Travel Resources

After 3+ years of continuous travel, we know how to save money and time. These are our favourite travel resources including the best sites to book accommodation and flights, the best travel insurance and what gear to have on the road. Enjoy.

Accommodation

Booking.com is our first choice for booking accommodation worldwide. There are over 1 million trusted reviews and include properties like hotels, hostels, guesthouses  & apartments. The best part is a lot of the hotels offer free cancellation until just a few days before your scheduled date. Click here to get $15 off your first booking.

Airbnb is our prefered method of accommodation when we’re looking for homes or a private room. By renting homes, you can often experience a more local approach to a city. In some cities, renting a private room can often be cheaper than hotel rooms. Click here to receive $40 off your first booking.

Agoda is another popular accommodation platform that is used widely, especially in Asia. Agoda offers some regional deals you won’t find on any other platform.

In the early days, all we stayed in were hostels, therefore Hostel World was our go-to booking site. It’s easy to use, has 1000’s of trusted reviews from fellow backpackers and you’ll find hostels for as low as $5 a night.

Travel Insurance

If you can’t afford travel insurance, you can’t afford to travel. It’s that simple. Here are our top 2 choices.

World Nomads has had our back for the duration of our travels with easy to use claim forms & quick responses from the customer service team. Their policies cover everything from medical to lost baggage and flight cancellations/delays. Always be sure to read the fine print on your policy!
